It was just too tempting to leave.
Just look how lovely it looks.
I checked out the serial number and found out that it is a machine from 1948.
I haven't tried sewing with it yet, but it sounds beautiful when you turn the handle so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it either. I am just so pleased with it. Who knows, maybe I will be able to make some of my clothes or bags on it. Will keep you posted.

Oh Hannelore, that's GORGEOUS! I've got a similar Singer, and an older Jones machine, just for decoration because I can't sew properly but they're so lovely! :)
fabulous! I've got two old Singer sewing machines (from my Gran & my Great Aunt) - I didn't realise you could find out how old they are from the serial number. I'll be trying to find out today. Looking forwrd to seeing what you make...
Wat moooooi!
What a beautiful Singer machine, Hannelore :)
I used to have one of these many years ago, and regret the fact that I sold it on.
Despite the plethora of gadgets that modern machines have, there's something really special about still being able to use a machine that was perfected so long ago :)
Wish I still had my one now . . . . .
What a beautiful sewing machine! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun using it... Vic, new follower:)
